About Xabaltx
Lapurdin jaioa da Xabaltx eta badira bost urte Nafarroan bizi dela, Urdazubin. Garai batean Baionako Gure Irratian jardun zen esatari, baina hura utzi eta orain France Bleu irratirako ari da lanean, euskal kulturari buruzko saioa egiten duelarik. SMS Galduak bere laugarren diskoa da eta bertan poparen bidetik abiatu da.

"...Sometimes all you really need in order to have a great musical event is a simple set up. That and an artist with experience and talent will do. That was the scenario we had at the "Sebright Arms". We were quite keen and intrigued to meet Xabaltx. With four albums already released, and a good reputation as a musician, we knew he would do a great job as he did. But we were more interested in meeting Xabaltx, the person. And we were not disappointed at all with him.
Although he has gone during his artistic career through different faces and stages and he has been recently experimenting on his latest album with a more electronic sound, his roots as a rocker show, and that was all he needed to bring to us in London his music and his songs. In this performance to which he treated us on this enjoyable evening, along with his regular second guitarist, both playing acoustic guitars, they went through many of their songs with the crowd cheering them on.
After Xabaltx's performance, some of the local punters went on the stage and started to perform some of their own numbers too, and we ended up having an improvised Jam session. There was such a great atmosphere all around. Our people standing all over the place, mingling with the locals or with some of Xabaltx's friends that had come with him from Iparralde. Apparently, they were some reporters coming to cover his Tour in the British islands. What a great evening that was. It makes you wish every Tuesday evening were exactly like that one was. Good live music, old friends and new ones...
In the end, at about 1.00 in the morning and taking a walk on the way back towards Oxford house, in a big group, the lads from Iparralde started to improvise a few bertsoak. Unreal...and quite amazing too. And they were actually quite good as well. The final "delicacy" for a great night out. Late night bertsolariak in the streets of London...I just love it.
